ALBANY — Dawn Staley looked back at her staff and gave a quick fist-pump as the final buzzer sounded on South Carolina’s 79-75 victory over Indiana. The scene in MVP Arena definitely became increasingly tense as the game progressed, but the Gamecocks prevailed and its undefeated season continues on.
Kamilla Cardoso led South Carolina with 22 points, and Raven Johnson added 14 points, including six key points in the fourth quarter. Indiana’s offense was much-improved in the second half, but it drew closer in large part because of its 3-point success. IU took a season-high 33 3-point attempts and hit 13 of them. They were plus-15 on 3-point differential compared to South Carolina, who made only eight 3s.
